This is a project I had on the back-burner for awhile and decided to start working on it again to finish it up... The Woodland Fairy had started as a gift I was going to make for my nieces for Halloween last year. (Since they where supposed to be fairy princesses it would have worked in nicely with their outfits.) Well, I got pretty caught up with quite a few things that I had to put this little baby away for awhile. The original idea was to make it more kid friendly, like the ones on Guillermo Del Toro's Pan's Labyrinth. After some idea changes, I then decided to make the figure a little more "anatomically correct" for hardcore collectors and hobby enthusiast. The sculpt is just under 1/6th scale of the human body, ruffly reaching 9 inches tall. I'm still having to do some other changes to the bodice. Trying to give the figure a little more muscle and bone definition. The hands and feet are going to be trickiest because of the complexity of the sculpt and the scale size. I will probably have to switch to a higher density Roma Plastilina (oil based clay) for the hands and feet so it can retain the detail and not be distorted upon casting. I will post up more pics of the progres... Stay Tuned!
